A keen observer of the Colorado youth soccer landscape, I have been a coach since 2006 working with players from U5 to U14 with an emphasis on U9-U10 Academy teams.

I grew up in Bismarck, ND and earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University. After graduation, I lived and worked in the Bay Area and Dallas before settling down in Broomfield, CO with my family in 1998.

I am also a soccer coaching education fanatic having attended a number of USSF and NSCAA courses and earned the credentials listed in the “Coaching Credentials” box on this page.

Beyond coaching, I have held various volunteer and paid posts within youth soccer clubs including board member, technology director, registrar, scheduler and a range of match day operations roles. I have helped run tournaments as well as leagues and have both developed and delivered entry-level coaching courses and educational materials.

My family is also very involved with soccer: both my children play competitively for Broomfield SC and my wife is a serial team manager. As a result of my coaching, volunteering and family involvement, I have some strong opinions on what’s right and wrong with Colorado youth soccer, some of which I share on my blog at: http://navigoglobal.com/blog/.

In addition to my soccer addiction, my professional life includes working in international telecoms (primarily the US, UK and South Africa), business management consulting and digital media for college sports.
